Get Your Headphones On.
It’s two days until the launch of Particles and Waves. I’ve talked about it on social media, I’ve geeked out about it in person, and I’ve been compiling playlists for over a week. I can’t express how excited I am to finally broadcast on a regular basis; when I host the Big Broad Cast I nearly always walk out of the station with a big smile on my face. I love hosting; I love finding new music, re-living old favourites, and learning how to cue up several vinyl albums in a row (not an easy feat!).
I’ve been honoured to have friends and family listening in to nearly every show I’ve ever done; it’s immensely humbling to realize that someone is willing to sit down for an hour and a half and tune in. I’ve also heard from complete strangers, who have occasionally called in to the studio to ask me questions and have always, always made my heart leap with joy. There are musicians who have found me via social media and reached out to make a connection; getting to work with them is intimidating, fascinating, and exciting. The realization that your voice is reaching even a handful of people, in a world where you can find music nearly anywhere else, makes this journey one of the most exciting projects I’ve ever done.
Particles and Waves is being launched after nearly two years of volunteering for CFUV. I’ve had immense support from the staff, my fellow volunteers, and my friends and family. I hope I give you guys the type of show you deserve.
So welcome to the official Particles and Waves website. This is where I’ll post track lists after every show, extra notes I may have, and other music writing I want to do in conjunction with this exciting new project. Say hi, leave a comment, request a song (not Justin Bieber), and let me know what you think of the show once it airs. See you on the bat-channel.
